Rock Point Wildflower Hikes

We are excited to team up with Rock Point Commons to lead two spring wildflower hikes. Conserved in 2019 by the Lake Champlain Land Trust thanks to the landowner (the Episcopal Church in Vermont) and our members and partners, Rock Point Natural Area is a one-of-a-kind regional treasure.

If you have yet to experience Rock Point’s recently-restored trail system—made possible by our conservation partners and generous community support—now is a great time to enjoy the new bridges, boardwalks, stone staircases, and overlooks.

  • The hikes will cover around 2.5 miles and last about an hour and half.
  • These outings are considered moderate hikes due to uneven footing on some sections of trail.
  • The hikes will begin at the Leddy Park parking lot.
  • Please leave dogs at home for these group outings. Thank you.

Space is limited. Registration is required. To register for one or both outings, email us at: or call 802-862-4150 ext 5.

(Note: We expect to have enough room for all interested hikers, but it is best to RSVP now as spaces will be filled in the order RSVPs are received.)

Burlington’s Urban Wilderness in Bloom (Saturday, May 3, 2025 – Noon)

We expect to see some early wildflowers like Hepatica and Bloodroot, as well as some mid-season bloomers like Yellow Trout Lily and Dutchman’s Breeches on this moderate hike. Join us as we search for wildflowers and enjoy stunning views of Lake Champlain and the Adirondack Mountains.

Wildflowers and Wild Views! (Saturday, May 10, 2025 – 10 a.m.)

On this outing, we hope to see the next batch of bloomers, including Trout Lily, White Trillium, and Blue Cohosh. We’ll be on the lookout for yellow, white, and purple blossoms among Rock Point’s ancient trees and rock outcroppings. We will hike Rock Point’s wilderness-like, deep woods trails and enjoy stunning clifftop views.
