Protect Your Land

Few gifts are as enduring as the conservation of land. Land that serves as an escape from the bustle of cities; land that gives kids a landscape to explore and discover the wonders of nature; land that provides our wildlife with room to roam; land that reminds us why we love living in this place.

The conservation of land ensures that a property will be protected from development forever. This helps to maintain a balance between nature and development and makes sure that not only you and your family, but also future generations, will be able to enjoy the natural qualities of the Land and the Lake. Our conservation options are flexible, and most of our private conservation projects do not include public access. Conserving land can also financially benefit individuals and families, potentially qualifying them for certain tax deductions.

The Lake Champlain Land Trust has completed over 70 conservation projects. We have protected properties ranging from quarter-acre islands to 2,500-acre forestland tracts. Landowners that work with the Lake Champlain Land Trust can choose whether to publicize their conservation project.  We list our private conservation projects on our website, but do not include the specific project location or details in order to protect landowner privacy.

If you would like more information about your conservation options, or would like to discuss conserving your land in New York or Vermont, please contact Executive Director Chris Boget at 802-862-4150 or for a free and confidential consultation.
