Conserved in 2003, the Mill River Falls Natural Area is a 35 acre preserve open to the public. Enjoy an all ages hike along an easy, yet diverse, trail. As you walk along you will notice rare plants such as yellow and white water crowfoot and gray's sedge. The natural area includes the last section of Mill River and a waterfall flowing over a ledge of weathered stone. Below the waterfall, Mill River flows over rapids, through pools, and past old oxbows as it divides and meanders across the flat, ancient delta at its end in Lake Champlain. This natural area was donated to the Lake Champlain Land Trust by Anna Neville and family. The conservation project was completed in partnership with the Georgia Conservation Commission. The Mill River Falls Natural Area is one of 40 properties saved by the Lake Champlain Land Trust. Over the past 25 years the Land Trust has preserved thousands of acres and miles of shoreline on Lake Champlain For information on becoming a member visit our website www.LCLT.org! |
