Crab Island is located off the shore from Plattsburgh, NY and was purchased by the State of New York in 1988. The island is home to a mass grave from the War of 1812 and ancient shells and fossils can be found along the limestone shoreline. Visitors are welcome on the island, but please be aware of your surroundings as poison ivy is prevalent on the property.
