The Winooski Natural Resources Conservation District (WNRCD) is a sub-division of government servicing the Winooski River, Browns River, and portions of Lake Champlain’s sub–watersheds, including all the land and resources within Chittenden and Washington counties and three towns in Orange County. Founded in 1940, we are dedicated to providing on-the-ground conservation assistance as well as promoting public awareness and appreciation for the value of conserving our natural resources.
The Town of Alburgh is located along Lake Champlain in northern Vermont and partnered with the Land Trust to conserve Alburgh Lakeshore Park.
The Town of Colchester is located on the shores of Lake Champlain in Mallets Bay. It is the fourth largest town in Vermont, and the Town has partnered with the Land Trust to conserve various parcels in Colchester.
The Town of Georgia is located in northern Vermont along Lake Champlain. The Georgia Conservation Commission partnered with the Land Trust to conserve Mill River Falls Natural Area.
The Town of Milton is located north of Mallets Bay near the shores of Lake Champlain and partnered with the Land Trust to conserve Eagle Mountain Natural Area.
The Town of North Hero is located on the Lake Champlain Islands. The Town of North Hero and the North Hero Recreation Committee partnered with the Land Trust to conserve Butternut Hill Natural Area.
